Prompts for using the strategy:

• Look at the pictures.  What will this book be about?

• Who is in the story?

• Are there people, objects, or actions in the picture that might make sense in the sentence?

• See if you can find any clue in the picture that might help you with that word.

• I noticed that you used the picture to help you.  Try looking at the first sound in the word and see if it helps you find a word in the picture that might fit there.
